Thursday night was also the first hockey jerseys game for Spc. Gregg Fernandez of the 155th Infantry Brigade, Mississippi National Guard. He said they dont have much nhl jerseys in Mississippi.
Fernandez was shot in the neck Aug. 23 during a firefight south of Baghdad. A bullet fragment also went into his eye. But he said that hed go back to Iraq without a moments indecision, if he could.
Staff Sgt. Carlos Farler agreed. He was injured in Karbala while on patrol with the 940th Military Police Company, Kentucky National Guard.
The people were so appreciative, Farler said about the Iraqis. He said while on foot patrols, many Iraqis would walk up and shake his hand, thanking him for keeping the streets safe.

Erin is a black Labrador retriever from New York City, she was born in December, 1998. are known for their keen sense of smell, retrieval instinct and friendly demeanor. Erin, her expenses, and care are provided to our agency through sponsorhips, scholarships and donations. Erin was trained several weeks prior to the arrival of her CBI canine handler. The handler and Erin then attended four weeks of training in Alfred, Maine. They were certified as a team in September of 2000 by the Maine State Police Academy. The CBI canine team must re-certify every year throughout their working career.
Erin is trained to sit when she detects the presence of a flammable liquid. This is called a “passive alert” and is used to keep the canine from scratching and digging at an area where the evidence is present. She is trained on a “food reward program.” When she alerts to an area where a flammable liquid is present she is hand fed by the handler. When she is not on a fire scene she is fed through the same process using simulated training scenarios. Erin’s diet, health and happiness is strictly monitored by the handler to ensure all her needs are met. She is used to educate the public about fire safety.

Upon completion of installation, vendor shall clean up and dispose of all debris occasioned by his work. All debris is to be removed from premises and rooms shall be left broom clean. Disposal of window coverings may be off-premises, at the direction of the user.
14.B. Labels
All window treatments sold under this contract shall be labeled inside the headrail with CONTRACTORS name and date of shipment. If the contractor installs window coverings, the date of installation must be shown in place of the shipment date. Failure to identify window treatments will result in rejection by Quality Assurance Inspectors and invoices will not be released until such omission is corrected.

In October 2005, the district received grant funding in the amount of $558,689 (over a 3 year funding cycle) from the U.S. Department of Educations Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.
